Robert Barna joined De La Rosa & Co. in 2009, after 16 years at two other municipal banking firms in California. As a member of the De La Rosa Education Finance team, Barna has contributed to the firm's successful underwriting of more than $10 billion of debt offerings for California school and community college districts. During his career, he has worked with more than 100 districts throughout the state and has worked on the passage of more than $15 billion of general obligation bond authorization.  He has expertise in structuring general bond programs to generate the greatest amount of capital funding, and has also issued certificates of participation, lease revenue bonds, Mello-Roos bonds, Qualified School Construction Bonds, Build America Bonds, bond anticipation notes, and tax and revenue anticipation notes.
 
Barna received an MBA with concentrations in Finance, Accounting and Public/Non-Profit Management from Columbia Business School in 1993, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1987. He holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.
