Fernando J. Guerra, Ph.D., joined De La Rosa & Co. as Senior Vice President in 2006, after serving as a consultant for the firm since its inception in 1989.
Dr. Guerra established the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University in 1996. He is also a tenured full professor in the department of Political Science and the department of Chicano Studies. He earned his doctorate in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his BA from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Guerra has served on standing commissions, blue ribbon committees and ad hoc task forces for the City of Los Angeles, the State of California and regional bodies in Southern California. He writes extensively about the Latino community and Los Angeles and California civic life for professional journals, edited books and popular publications. He has been quoted in the public media on more than 500 occasions.
Dr. Guerra has served on numerous non-profit boards. He currently sits on the Board of Southern California Public Radio, the Tidings Board of Directors and the Advisory Board for the Public Policy Institute of California. |
